The artwork, created by illustrator Chris Chipak of the Red Pheasant Cree Nation, celebrates the team\u2019s 25\u201317 win over the Montreal Alouettes \u2014 their first championship since 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chipak, who became widely recognized last season for designing an Indigenous Roughriders logo featuring a buffalo, river and sun, said the idea for the new championship design came to him while watching the Grey Cup game. A single feather rises from the trophy, illuminated by the sun \u2014 symbolizing connection, honour, and the spirit of the Prairies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the base of the design is a buffalo, its mane transforming into roots spreading across the ground. His earlier Indigenous logo incorporated the buffalo, a flowing river, prairie symbolism, and two feathers representing respect, bravery, and Two-Spirit identities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A full-colour version of that logo, released this year, became extremely popular among fans. Each colour carries meaning:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Green<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for grass<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Blue<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Yellow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for the sun and Treaty promises<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Brown<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for the buffalo and the land<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Grey<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for resilience and the past<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Orange<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for healing and remembrance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Some revenue from merchandise sales also supports Indigenous initiatives in Saskatchewan.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Celebrating Community Pride<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chipak said that watching Indigenous families embrace the logo has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cIt\u2019s more so that it\u2019s their logo,\u201d he said. \u201cIf they\u2019re getting it, they\u2019re getting it for auntie, grandma, niece, nephew, brother, sister\u2026 It\u2019s a rewarding feeling knowing they stand behind it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He hopes the new Grey Cup tribute design becomes a lasting reminder of the Riders\u2019 historic win \u2014 and a symbol of how sport brings people together across the
